What is IPMUN 2018?


Is an extra-curricular activity in which students typically role-play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees.

It involves substantial researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

What is Human Rights?

Is the body of independent experts that monitors implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights by its State parties. 

All States parties are obliged to submit regular reports to the Committee on how the rights are being implemented. 

TOPICS

NET NEUTRALITY: Is the principle that governments should mandate Internet service providers to treat all data on the Internet the same, and not discriminate or charge differently by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of communication.
For instance, under these principles, internet service providers are unable to intentionally block, slow down or charge money for specific websites and online content.

DIGITAL RIGHTS:Describes the human rights that allow individuals to access, use, create, and publish digital media or to access and use computers, other electronic devices, or communications networks.
The term is particularly related to the protection and realization of existing rights, such as the right to privacy or freedom of expression, in the context of new digital technologies, especially the Internet.

THE RIGHT TO INTERNET ACCESS: Is the view that all people must be able to access the Internet in order to exercise and enjoy their rights to freedom of expression and opinion and other fundamental human rights, that states have a responsibility to ensure that Internet access is broadly available, and that states may not unreasonably restrict an individual's access to the Internet.

A Position Paper es a succinct summary of your delegatioin´s policy with respect to the committee tipc (Digital Rights). In it, delegates should focus on outlining key facts the guide their delegations´s perspective, as well as sketching possible solutions to the issues at hand.
